Structure & board

At Mlup Baitong we employ around 60 talented and dedicated staff with combined work experience of 423 years, and 15 volunteers (3 foreigners). Our staff come from different regions of Cambodia and either work in our headquarters in Phnom Penh or in our field offices in the target provinces. They are organized into provincial area programs hosting the respective projects. The area programs are overseen by the Program Manager and the Executive Director. Dedicated Program Coordinators/ Project Officers are responsible for data collection and coordination in each of their projects. Our Environmental Resource Centre, Media and Consultancy is based in Phnom Penh and headed by the Resource Center Unit. Also based in the headquarters are the Finance & Accounting Unit as well as the Admin Section.

The Executive Committee, comprising of the Executive Director, Program Manager, and Operation Manager is overseen by our Board of Directors, consisting of five members with a broad and diverse range of experience.

Board of Directors

Mr. Sovanny Chhum

Mr. Sovanny joined Mlup Baitong’s Board of Directors in June 2013 and became the Chairperson of the Board in January 2014. He is a Programme Analyst on Programme and Results Cluster at UNDP Cambodia. He has extensive working experience in the implementation of programme strategies and quality control through oversight functions to projects under biodiversity, sustainable land/forest management and climate change portfolio.

Ms. Pamela joined Mlup Baitong’s Board of Directors in July 2000. Pamela was appointed Chief Representative and Head of Financial Institutions Cambodia, responsible for all Standard Chartered Bank business interests in Cambodia. In her role she is the group’s representative in Cambodia and drives the delivery of the agreed country strategy and business plan within the scope of the representative office license and balancing strategy, people and talent, risk management, business conduct, governance and stakeholder management, including building regulatory, government and client relationships. She joined Standard Chartered Bank in Phnom Penh in 1992.

Ms. Pamela Keorevatney-Huy

Ms. Saoleng Lam

Ms. Saoleng has been a member of Mlup Baitong’s Board of Directors since early 2006, when she was Environment Program Coordinator for NGO Forum on Cambodia. Now she is the Programme Coordinator of the National Biodigester Programme and has excellent insights into current environmental issues, agricultural development, climate change and clean rural renewable energy. This knowledge helps Mlup Baitong to strengthen its work in these fields.

Mr. Novin has been a member of Mlup Baitong’s Board of Directors since 2009. He is the Director of National Park Development of the Ministry of Environment, were he gives oversight to national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. In the past he has frequently worked with NGOs and international projects dealing with conservation efforts.

Ms. Andrea Roth

Ms. Andrea became a Member of the Board of Directors in April 2017. She moved from Germany to Cambodia in 2016, and works as a Technical Advisor for local NGO Save Cambodia’s Wildlife (SCW). After over 10 years of work experience in the private sector (marketing, project management), she changed to the development sector and is now responsible for the implementation of a Social Entrepreneurship Marketing Strategy including funding sources, as well as overall organizational development.
