At Mlup Baitong we have a lot of experience with volunteers, some staying for a whole year, some only for a few weeks or months. Some coming from places all over the world, some directly from Cambodia. Some are joining us for volunteer work, while others just take the chance to support us for a few days while on vacation in Southeast Asia.
Volunteering gives you an insight into our work as an NGO and an idea of what it means to develop projects and activities together with our target communities. Volunteers support us with additional skills and new ideas, enabling us to conduct our work in a better way. We profit from your experiences and skills while you profit from ours. In the past, we always loved working together with volunteers, for it usually means a lot of fun.
Volunteer work usually revolves around our projects with topics such as natural resources management, community forestry, ecotourism, environment protection, climate change, eco schools, and many more. If you are interested in what volunteers experienced during their time with Mlup Baitong, take a look at our blog, where some of them post about their adventures. You can also check the profiles of previous volunteers.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer yourself, feel free to contact us by writing us an email or by giving us a call.
We will discuss all of the possibilities and necessities with you once in contact. Feel free to approach us with your own ideas, we are always open to suggestions. If you are a student or researcher enrolled in a field related to our work you might also be interested in our research possibilities. We would love to hear from you!

Professional exchange & Internships
Gain professional experience and long-lasting impressions while contributing to our cause: At Mlup Baitong we especially like to welcome people with a skill or profession that could contribute to our work. If you intend to visit Cambodia for holiday or business and have a few hours or days of spare time, you could use this time to share your knowledge with us. These are examples for professional exchange:
Teach English to our colleagues and target communities
Help improve our website
Share your expertise on agricultural techniques and home gardening
Introduce a new technology to us, e.g. related to protected forest patrolling
Feel free to contact us with your own ideas! We are always curious about and open for your own suggestions.
If you are a student or graduate in a subject linked to our work, we suggest you have a look at our research opportunities.
As an NGO we are relying on the financial support of our donors to conduct our projects. We generate no profits and therefore will not be able to pay you any compensation for your work.
We really hope to be welcoming you in Cambodia soon!
