Our strategy

Our strategy is designed to contribute to the implementation of our vision, mission, and goal and is based on the needs of the communities and environment we work for. We develop our strategy in line with international concepts and frameworks for the alleviation of poverty, increased respect for human rights, and sustainable natural resource use, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Four strategic objectives serve as the cornerstones of our strategy and we strive to fulfill them through our projects and by employing a range of methods and approaches.

Objective 1

Disadvantaged communities, especially women, youths and indigenous people, obtain improved livelihoods through Community Based Eco-Tourism services, Farmer Cooperative mechanisms, and Self Help Groups (SHG) including revolving funds and micro-businesses.

Objective 2

Forest-dependent communities, especially women, youths and indigenous people, understand and exert their rights and actively participate in planning and implementation of Community Based Forestry Management, Community Based Eco-Tourism (CBET), and Community Based REDD+ projects.

Objective 3

Communities obtain an improved community environment, practice sustainable management of natural resources, understand threats of climate change, and actively contribute to mitigation of and adaptation to climate change.

Objective 4

General public obtain increased environmental awareness and access to information related to environmental management.

We update our strategy regularly and monitor our results carefully. Every 6 years we formulate a new overall strategic plan to ensure our work focuses on long-lasting results. The current strategic plan is set for 2016 to 2021.
